MARCH 21 "AN EXPERT"
An expert is someone widely
recognized as a reliable source.
An expert, more generally,
is a person with extensive knowledge or ability based on
research, experience, or occupation; and in a particular area of study.
Experts are called in for
advice on their respective subject, but they do not always agree on the
particulars of a field of study. An expert can be believed, by virtue of credential,
training, education, profession, publication or experience,
to have special knowledge of a subject beyond that of the average person.
Experts have a prolonged or
intense experience through practice and education in a particular field. In specific
fields, the definition of expert is well established by consensus and therefore
it is not always necessary for individuals to have a professional or academic qualification
for them to be accepted as an expert, but rather on many accounts, it is more the
development of expert amd more so day it comes through long periods of
deliberate practice. In many domains and/or fields today, it is commonly agreed that an expert is one who has had 10 years'
experience of deliberate practice in one particular field; this will define you as an expert.
Perhaps this is why Paul says, "by now you ought to be teaching others, but you are having to be taught the elementary truths all over again". We that have sat in the church and been Christians for 10 years ought to be the experts. We ought to be able to lead a bible study, we ought to be able to debate those at work that want to debate the bible; instead we refer to the Pastor or we refer to the Youth Leader, but yet we have 10 years invested in this field and still try to claim ourselves "amateurs" but yet in every other field of life, where you have 10 years experience and practice, you are looked at or relied upon, to be the expert. Why should it be any different in Christendom?
